Suggesting Edits
Why can others edit my communities? How does the editing process work?
Communities on Redpanda are collaboratively edited by users. If you notice something that could be improved, feel free to make an edit!
Editing helps keep communities accurate, relevant, and up-to-date. If you’re not comfortable with others, including trusted users, making changes to your contributions, Redpanda may not be the best platform for you.
When should I make edits to a community?
You can suggest an edit anytime you come across a community that could use improvement.
Some common reasons to edit a community include:
- Correcting spelling or grammatical errors
- Clarifying the meaning of content without altering its intent
- Adding important details that may be in the comments, so everything is in one place
- Updating information or fixing small inaccuracies as the community evolves
- Including helpful resources or relevant links
- Avoid making insignificant or trivial edits; aim to enhance the community and address any noticeable issues.
Who reviews the proposed edits?
While any user can propose an edit, changes aren’t immediately visible. Suggested edits must be approved or rejected by others before they can be applied or discarded.
What happens if someone suggests a poor edit?
Users who repeatedly submit rejected edits may be banned.
